Fed: Anglicans latest to back out of welfare program

Labor says the Anglican church is the latest religious organisation to back out of
the government's controversial welfare to work program.
Anglicare joins a growing list of welfare organisations turning away from the program
.. which pays charities to help those who've been stripped of unemployment benefits for
failing to meet new job seeking requirements.
Senator PENNY WONG says the program leaves many Australians vulnerable .. including
the disabled and homeless .. with no financial assistance for two months.
She says the HOWARD Government's policy is so extreme that people refuse to implement it.
