FED:Channel 9 staff sacked over fake crosses
The director of Nine Network in Brisbane has reportedly resigned and a producer and
two journalists have been sacked, after news crosses to the DANIEL MORCOMBE search site
were reportedly faked.
The Sun Herald says LEE ANDERSON has resigned from the post of director of news in Brisbane.
Meanwhile, Nine Brisbane's managing director and head of news MARK CALVERT sacked producer
AARON WAKELEY and journalists MELISSA MALLET and CAMERON PRICE yesterday afternoon.
Nine Network's weekend news bulletins crossed to reporters in a helicopter who said
they were hovering over the search site of the boy, who's been missing since 2003 and
presumed murdered, but the network says the location of the helicopter was misreported.
