NSW: Killick pleads guilty to escape charges

Daring helicopter escapee JOHN KILLICK has pleaded guilty to charges relating to his
escape from a Sydney jail last year -- while other charges against him have been dropped.

KILLICK, aged 58, pleaded guilty in Sydney's Central Local Court today to escaping
lawful custody, assaulting or interfering with a pilot, and armed robbery.

But a charge against him relating to the alleged kidnapping of Melbourne motel caretaker
JOHN TURNER were withdrawn by the New South Wales Director of Public Prosecutions.

Three other charges were also withdrawn, and one will be taken into consideration when
KILLICK is sentenced next week.

Two other charges have been stood over to another date.

KILLICK has been committed for sentencing next Friday in relation to the escape.
