Vic: Elderly woman burnt in Creswick fire
A woman has been airlifted to the Alfred hospital after becoming the latest victimof fires across Victoria.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 70s, has been badly burned in a fire at Creswicknorth-west of Melbourne.
The Country Fire Authority has had eight fire trucks at the scene since 1.30pm (AEDT).
A spokesman says the fire is burning through grass and scrub and has destroyed onehouse and several outbuildings.
Meanwhile, bushfires raging in the Big Desert Wilderness Park in Victoria's north-westhave crossed the border into South Australia.
The Department of Sustainability and Environment says the fires, which now cover about70,000 hectares, have spread into the neighbouring state in the last two hours.
