WA: Christmas Island authority rejects claims sailors ran amok
PERTH, Jan 10 AAP - Christmas Island's administrator today rejected claims the crewfrom HMAS Arunta ran amok on the island, saying the sailors had behaved well.
Military police are probing allegations of widespread misconduct that could lead tocriminal charges against some of the crew of the frigate deployed to intercept asylumseekers.
The allegations include claims that senior naval officials tried to cover up reportsof bar-room misconduct, sexual assaults, nude swimming and a theft spree on the island.
